I have been getting some questions about the killing floor servers, so i wanted to address them here so all could benefit.
WhiteListed Maps. We only run whitelisted maps. A map is whitelisted by TripWire if they find no exploits etc, and are the ONLY maps you get perks on. In other words, if the map isnt whitelisted, you get no points for kills. Sometimes they de-whitelist a map before i can catch it, so if you see any maps you DONT get points on, post it here so i can remove it.
Fast Download. The fast download of maps works by checking a separate host for a compressed version of the map file, and if there it will download it fast. If it isnt there, a different version, or the compression isnt quite right, it will default to downloading from the game server box, at a VERY slow rate. Sometimes, however, the map size makes it appear to be downloading slowly, so take that into consideration. If you see a map that is VERY slow, please let me know so i can check to make sure that map is properly compressed/uploaded etc. I have unintentionally missed a few, and have found a few others where the map designer updated the map but didnt change the name.
