I've asked myself this before. Several answers have presented themselves, but I'll give you one that I can agree with. Our politics and politicians have moved away from being about the people's welfare to being about the politicians' welfare. Corporate welfare. We don't control our government. Even our own government doesn't control itself.

Not to be that guy, but read some history Waffle, it's been that way for 200 years. First Plantations and Textiles, then giving 25% of the country away for free to railroads, then it was steel plants, and on and on. It sucks but it's our US of A.

America is the greatest country in the world. Dont confuse the government lackeys with the country; we can always vote them out, and got a good start this past November.
